Inventory Shortage at Crisis Levels in Nation's Hottest Housing Markets - For-sale inventory is stuck at crisis levels in some of the nation's hottest housing markets where home values are appreciating fastest. In San Jose, Calif., there are 41 percent fewer homes on the market than a year ago – the annual percentage change in inventory has been falling at a double-digit pace for the past nine months. I

Millennials Are Saving More Than You Think - Sixteen percent of millennials ages 23 to 37 have $100,000 or more in savings, which is double the number of young people who had that much stowed away in 2015, a newly released survey from Bank of America shows. Nearly half—or 47 percent—have $15,000 saved, up from 33 percent in 2015.

Home buying in the Bay Area — act fast - Limited housing supply is driving prices sky-high and forcing buyers to move ever more quickly. In Santa Clara County, the median time for an existing home on the market in December was 9 days — by far the shortest listing-to-sale in any metro region in the state. Homes sales in the county moved twice as quickly as they did during the same period last year, according to a new report from the California Association of Realtors.

Low inventory, high prices and Google: San Jose housing market soars - The Bay Area’s red-hot housing market is showing no signs of cooling. While the number of homes sold may have dipped since last Fall, prices continue to soar and those properties that are on the market aren’t there very long.

U.S. ranked world’s 6th best housing market: 6 things to know - The U.S. housing market will remain among the world’s top performers in 2018, according to a new forecast by Fitch Ratings. Here are six things you need to know about the upcoming year — predicted to see slowing appreciation with some noteworthy risks.
