It's Not Too Late to Register to Vote! - This year is an election year and California’s Primary Election Day is June 7, 2016. If you’ve moved or need to vote by mail, you can easily register online. Permanent absentee is the easiest way to vote; your ballot arrives by mail and you can vote at your convenience. The registration deadline for paper registration forms is May 23, 2016. Getting involved is key to protecting the issues important to you.
Realtors back flood-insurance bill - Supporters claim that the legislation will help foster a vibrant private flood-insurance market. Expanding the flood-insurance market would improve coverage, reduce rates and tailor coverage to a wider population. Homes in high-risk flood zones with mortgage loans backed by Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae must carry flood insurance
San Jose housing prices: County's median hits $1 million for first time - While regional prices rose last month, the volume of sales fell from a year earlier: by 9.5 percent in Santa Clara County, 18.3 percent in San Mateo County, 13.1 percent in Alameda County, 5.1 percent in Contra Costa County and 9.5 percent for the nine-county region. It was the second consecutive month of year-over-year declines for the Bay Area.
Dick Spotswood: Focus on jobs to solve state’s housing problem - California’s much discussed housing-jobs imbalance is true. The problem might not be so much the lack of new housing in coastal California as it’s the poor distribution of well-paying jobs. State policy should be altered to encourage job creation in regions rich with affordable housing and high unemployment.

What many people don't realize is how important it is to use far, far less than the total amount of credit available on your cards. How much of that credit you use and your bill-paying behavior add up to the most significant factor in your credit score.
