The Next Housing Crisis May Be Sooner Than You Think - Just when America appeared to be recovering from the last housing crisis—the trigger, in many ways, for 2008’s grand financial meltdown and the beginning of a three-year recession—another one may be looming on the horizon. According to some experts, there are several big red flags.

California Forecasted to Add More Than 10,000 Construction Jobs by End of 2014 - On the housing front, California is under-supplied with new homes in the wake of a recession that prompted homebuilders to halt or pull back on production. Now, though, construction permits are on the rise, and that is expected to continue over the next three years. Additionally, a steady increase in international trade should bolster the state's transportation and logistics industry, and in turn fuel the construction of new industrial space.

Modest Bay Area homes hit mind-boggling prices - "There's too much money chasing too few homes," said the agent, Scott Dancer with Coldwell Banker. "People are competing for a limited product."

BART stations in San Jose, Santa Clara could be cut from plans - In an effort to secure federal funds by cutting $1.3 billion from a BART extension through downtown San Jose, planners are considering eliminating two of four stations -- and neighborhoods that had been counting on those stations are up in arms.

CalBRE alerts consumers, real estate pros about fraud - The bureau is still seeing foreclosure rescue scams and pitching of forensic loan audits. These scams involve fraudulent foreclosure "rescue" professionals who sell services that promise relief to financially strapped homeowners in exchange for an advanced fee.

First look: Facebook's early plans for Menlo Park TE Connectivity campus - The social networking site has engaged Gehry Partners LLP — the firm that also designed its under-construction West Campus — to renovate a 184,000-square-foot warehouse building at 300 Constitution Drive, city documents show.
